the art of explanation

‘Dazzling’
‘Lucid and detailed’
Do you worry about holding people’s attention in presentations?
Are you concerned about getting all your points across in an interview?
Most leaders I support want to improve their effectiveness in communication. Ros Atkins has generously produced this book to share his hard earned wisdom with us all. He takes the most complex situations and explains them to us all in the media in a clear and compelling way. You’ll recognise his from BBC’s viral explainer videos or maybe he’s DJ’s for you in Ibiza. Either way, it’s a joy of a read.
Who is it for? Well, for anyone who may ever want to present to people in whatever format, make a pitch, give a stella performance at interview, or hold a roomful of kids at essembly.

BAD SISTERS
What a joy.
A supremely funny murder mystery. Adaptation of The Out-Laws, a Belgian series by Malin-Sarah Gozin, which has been described as the ‘blackest comedy ever’.
As an exercise in catharsis Bad Sisters is wonderful. The cast, the writing, the music, the locations are all a veritable feast.
Sit back and enjoy this mostly female led cast of dark, funny, tender storytelling.

WHAT DID YOU DO YESTERDAY?
Genius!
Max Rushen and David O’Doherty don’t take this too seriously. It’s a delightful and mundane concept that involves talking to a celebrity about their previous day. It’s genuinely charming and has unexpected discoveries along the way. I love O-Doherty (and his tiny keyboard) and could listen much much more than the optimal 40 minutes podcast length time that this production gives us. I hope you enjoy. Check out Ellis James’s chat first maybe.
